About the Judge
Bill Lane started drawing and painting at the age of 7 in Newport, Rhode Island. During the late 60’s, he would use barrel staves as canvases for Newport scenes, selling them at flea markets and gift shops around town. In the early 90’s, he studied watercolor at the Attleboro Arts Museum. He now runs his own graphic design studio.
Bill is an Exhibiting Artist Member at the Guild of Boston Artists and the Providence Art Club. He is a Signature Artist Member in the New England Watercolor Society and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and a juried artist member at the Rockport Art Association & Museum. He teaches watercolor at the Providence Art Club and the Portsmouth Arts Guild as well as several workshops in and around the area.
