The images I create emphasize the patterns and textures of rocks and sediments and the boundaries between earth, water and light. These natural interactions have a powerful influence on my images. I use composition, perspective, lighting and vantage points to isolate the elements of a scene and create a sense of depth and texture. I view photography as art and use an array of techniques and tools to remove distracting elements and to emphasize and enhance those most captivating. My goal is to present fine art photographs that bring visual elements together into one consistent, honorable and uncompromising vision that conveys my feelings of the moment – when a vision is most familiar.

Blue Tree – The Final Year Holiday season in Needham, Massachusetts’ town with the childhood favorite and infamous “Blue Tree” that, after 60 years of annual lighting ceremonies, was taken down in 2015 due to disease.
Ember Light Sunset at Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Maine near Acadia National Park.
Feather Duster A colorful plume of a tubeworm in Bonaire, Netherland Antilles
Fostering Sunset The A.M. Foster covered bridge in Cabot, Vermont. I usually see images of this bridge as a night shot with the Milky Way in the background (next time, I promise), but it is picturesque in most light/seasons. In some ways, it reminds me of Motif No. 1 in Rockport, MA. I wouldn’t be surprised to see en plein air artists scattered about with their easels – if it was a little less remote. And, yes, this is Cabot as in Cabot Cheese (the maker of my favorite 3-yr aged extra sharp cheddar).
Lovin’ Me Some Anemone Anemone fish and anemone in Micronesia’s Chuuk Lagoon
Motif No. 1 and the Passing Storm A summertime thunderstorm rolls past lobster boats at their moorings in front of Motif No. 1 in Rockport, Massachusetts.
Night Brambles and Milky Way at Nauset Light Mid-May Milk Way behind Nauset Beach Lighthouse on the Cape Cod National Seashore. Reflected light from the rotating lens captured nearby trees as shadows on the tower.
Pollacapall Lough Lush Taken from the side of the road moments after leaving Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland.
Red Stone Schoolhouse in Snow Located on the grounds of the Martha-Mary Chapel, this is the Red Stone School (circa 1798) in Sudbury, Massachusetts during a typical New England Nor’easter / snowstorm. It is a one room school house that was bought by Henry Ford and moved to this location. It is rumored to have been the schoolhouse referenced in the poem, “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
St. Colman’s Cathedral and “The Deck of Cards” Colorful row houses in the port town of Cobh, County Cork, Ireland, known as “The Deck of Cards” locally, with St. Colman’s Cathedral in the background.
The Eyes Have It A bay scallop shot laying on the bottom of a cove in Ft. Wetherill State Park. These bivalves are usually found nestled in seagrass beds and are easily distinguished from other bottom-dwelling animals by their electric blue eyes. Bay scallops are capable of swimming by opening and closing their shells rapidly to generate thrust, which can make catching them more challenging.
The Mountaineer and the Frankenstein Cliff Trestle “The Mountaineer” Conway Scenic Railway northbound on the Frankenstein Cliff Trestle in Crawford Notch, White Mountains of New Hampshire.
The Watchman Under Milky Way The Milky Way over the Virgin River in Zion National Park with The Watchman in the distance.
Waterline at Nubble Lighthouse I had a great couple of scuba dives at Nubble Lighthouse. Afterward, I decided to shuck my drysuit, put on my wetsuit and go snorkeling to the south end of the island for a little different perspective on this iconic lighthouse
