I rediscovered the joyful spontaneity of drawing in 2024 after several decades. My art practice is a form of play, meditation, exploration and experimentation and a way to honor and highlight our feathered friends. I began with colored pencils but the birds have inspired me to expand into inks, paints, oil pastels, collage and block printing. I aspire to capture the essence, personalities and attitudes of these tiny yet mighty, fragile and fierce winged creatures that grace the skies, the trees and backyard feeders.
