While our themed exhibit “Past, Present, Future” is on view at Gorse Mill this month, we will be hosting a series of member-led demos in the gallery. We hope you can join us for these more informal and intimate gatherings where our members will share aspects of their artistic practice. These demos are all free and open to the public.

Gelli Plate Printing with Vidya Shyamsundar

You will be fascinated by the interesting textures Vidya creates on various paper substrates by rolling the acrylic paint on the Gelli plate and making marks using kitchen tools, stencils, found objects, etc. Participants will have a chance to create and take home your own unique Gelli print!
Developing a Series with Mark J. Richards
Thursday, February 13, 3:30pm
Mark will discuss his process and tips for developing a series of artworks. Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or sketch pad to this session.
Accordion Books with Gail Hansen
Tuesday, February 18, 3:30pm
Gail will demonstrate the accordion book structure and ways it can be styled into different kinds of useful books to display your own artwork. She will also teach participants how to fold a perfect eight-page accordion. All materials included.
