Since 1984, Needham Art Association (NAA) has awarded an art scholarship to a talented Needham high school senior who intends to pursue art/art courses in college. This year’s award recipient will receive $1500.
Eligibility

- 12th grade students who attend Needham High School OR who live in Needham but attend another school.
- Artwork that is 2-D or 3-D such as printmaking, drawing, photography, painting, digital media, sculpture, and ceramics.
- Students who are going to college, university or art school in the fall.
Application Process
Complete the online application by April 1, 2025.

- Submit four photos of your artwork (portfolio) with your application. Your images should be sized to a minimum height or width of 1200 pixels at a resolution of 72 dpi. Save your file as either a JPG or PNG and name your file using this format: LastName_ImageTitle.jpg (or .png).
- The Scholarship Committee makes its decision after reviewing applications and portfolios submitted; the award decision is final. Applicants will be informed of the NAA’s award decision in the beginning of June 2025.

2024 Scholarship Recipient
Rian Sullivan, a Needham High School senior, has been selected as the 2024 recipient of Needham Art Association’s Scholarship Award of $1,500.
In her artwork, Rian represents the people and places that have impacted her emotionally and shaped her as a person. She enjoys the challenge of trying new mediums, but her favorite is colored pencils, which allows her to express depth and emotion in her work. Next year, Rian will attend Bard College where she plans to major in Biology and Environmental Science while also continuing to study art.
