2024 Spring Judged Exhibit

NAA’s 2024 Spring Judged Exhibit is on display at the Wellesley Free Library in the Wakelin Room on April 1 – 29 featuring original works by 29 NAA members.

The following awards were presented at our awards reception on April 14:
First Place – Joan Onofrey
Second Place – James C. Varnum
Third Place – Marguerite Swartz
Honorable Mentions – Lin Bain, Katherine Fast, Gail Fischer, Nancy Present-Van Broekhoven

Noted NAA members will also be participating in the Needham Open Studios weekend event on May 4 – 5.

About the Judge

Penny Billings works in a unique style of contemporary realism. Painting from her imagination, memories or plein air field sketches, Penny’s award-winning tonalist oil paintings capture the constantly shifting light and mood of today’s varied American landscape.

In New York, Penny has been honored as both a signature member of the American Artists Professional League and as a juried artist member of the storied Salmagundi Club. At the Copley Society of Art in Boston she has achieved the highest distinction bestowed on an artist of Copley Master, Penny is also an associate with distinction artist member of American Women Artists, a juried artist member of Cape Ann’s historic Rockport Art Association, and a member of the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society and the American Impressionist Society.
