NAA’s 2026 Spring Judged Exhibit is on display at the Morse Institute Library on March 3 – April 29 featuring original works by 35 NAA members.
Our awards reception will be held on Monday, March 16, at 6:30pm presenting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards plus three Honorable Mentions.
Noted NAA members will also be participating in the Needham Open Studios weekend event on May 2 – 3.
About the Judges
Christine O’Donnell is the founder and Executive Director of ShowUp, a nonprofit contemporary art space in Boston. With a career spanning the commercial and nonprofit sectors, including her tenure as founder of Beacon Gallery, O’Donnell brings a global perspective shaped by twelve years living in France, Hong Kong, and Singapore. An experienced curator and juror, she has curated exhibitions at Spring/Break New York, Aqua Art Miami, Scope Miami, the Piano Craft Gallery, Hopkinton Center for the Arts, and the Attleboro Art Museum, amongst others. She has also been a curator in residence at the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), and a juror for prizes and exhibitions including Tufts University’s New Ventures Creative Arts Entrepreneurship prize. Her academic background includes an M.A. in Art History from the Open University and an M.A. in Teaching from Tufts. Recently, she studied at Harvard Business School’s Social Enterprise Initiative, focusing on social impact leadership. O’Donnell also serves on the Advisory Council for the ICA Boston and on the board of Boston Art Review, a publication and art organization supporting discourse about contemporary art and culture.
Sherwin Long is an illustrator and freelance artist from Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art. He has produced a wide variety of work and a technique that is extremely versatile, with media ranging from acrylic and watercolor to charcoal and pastel drawings. The sizes of his work are just as diverse, from small pieces painted on wood surfaces to larger pieces painted on canvas. His art is heavily influenced by the graffiti and murals in his community, with a splash of fine art, making his work unique; inspired by music, poetry, spiritually, mythology, and architecture. Sherwin has displayed his work at the State House, City Hall, Museum of Fine arts, a plethora of Boston galleries, and local businesses and libraries. Art has always been his passion and a crucial part of his life since an early age so he enjoys the chance to expand the imagination of young minds.
